Student Voice: Setting Up A Successful Student Voice Council
This programme is designed
for schools who are interested in setting up or
re-launching a student voice group within their
school. It is designed to work with up to 30
students who will be trained to understand how
to structure a council, elect representatives
democratically, to understand the values of
democracy and to be clear about how to drive the
student voice/council forward to make it
effective.
Programme objectives:
To investigate what systems are in place and how
to structure the council to make it more
democratic
To understand the roles and responsibilities of
the student council
To create a democratic election so all students
participate in the decision making
To learn the basics on how to set up meetings
and influence change
To re-brand to make it fit with your school
To create an action plan to support the on-going
development of the voice/council.
